Weekend Quotes

After spending the last 4 days in San Francisco, it’s good to be back in LA. Jane is still working in Florida for a few more days so I might have to handle most of the updates this week but I’m sure we’ll be seeing some of her from her hotel room when she is free. Here are this weekend’s quotes.

Wayne Gretzky on Direction: “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been.”

Abraham Lincoln on Power: “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”

Japanese proverb on Character: “When the character of a man is not clear to you, look at his friends.”

Galileo Galilei on Learning: “I have never met a man so ignorant that I couldn’t learn something from him.”

Pablo Picasso on Belief and Action: “Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.”

David Ogilvy on Marketing: “The more informative your advertising, the more persuasive it will be.”

Sam Keen on Growth: “If I get stuck in who I am now, I will never blossom into who I might yet become. I need to practice the gentle art of letting go.”

Robert Maxwell on Confidence: “I suffer no slings and arrows. I just sail on. That’s the secret of success in life.”

Mark Twain on Rightness: “Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.”

I really like Robert Maxwell’s quote. “Just sail on” is great advice to anyone who feel frustrated or like they cannot make it. Tomorrow is a new day, just sail on.

Yep, always look forward. If you spend too much time looking behind you, you’re gonna run into something!

John I have seen the site directing to Centos Apache default page earlier in the weekend. I am guessing you guys successfully moved from the previous web hosting provider?

Hi Shawn,

Yes we made the move on Saturday afternoon and I can already tell the site loads 10x’s faster. Wordpress is also much faster to navigate through.

I usually come to the blog from MyBlogLog. I can say the site is definitely loading up faster for sure. Who did you guys end up hosting with this time?

I remember a play where Gretzky deked out three defenders plus the goalie and slammed the puck in for a goal. It was one on four. Crazy.

I guess he knew the puck was going to be in the net!

wow that japanese proverb stopped me quick! it’s so true that a person’s circle of friends can tell you a lot about them. birds of a feather flock together.
goes back to your article about networking, too. keep motivated people around you and it’ll help you get to your goals quicker.
