Career New Professionals

You have the offer…now what? Negotiating is an art, an art that can be uncomfortable, unsatisfying, and down right scary if you don’t have experience doing it. It’s scary because you don’t want to come off pushy, but at the same time, you don’t want to get low balled. What you are looking for is something that Covey would say is a “win-win” situation. You want to be happy working for the company because you feel appreciated, and at the same time, the company is happy because of your productivity and willingness to be there.

Negotiating requires strategy, presentation and patience. However, preperation is probably the single most important part of successful negotiations. Part II of “The Art of Negotiating” will give you areas to target in order to help you prepare for successful negotiating.

Rich Dad Says: “Negotiating is something that takes practice.”
